Flatland Psychiatry provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that empowers children and adults across the prairie to recognize their own healing power and be their best self.

Community

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We’re committed to building a supportive community—inside our practice and beyond—where people feel connected, encouraged, and never alone in their struggles.

Authenticity

Progress begins with honesty. We show up as our genuine selves and create space for you to do the same. When we are real about what we’re facing, lasting change becomes possible.

Kindness

Everyone deserves compassion—including yourself. Each person who walks through our doors is just as valuable and worthy as anyone else, and self-kindness is an essential step toward healing.

Meet Brittany Long, PMHNP | Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in ND

Not Your Corporate Clinician

*surprisingly easy to talk to (say many ranchers)

*known for her cozy, home-like office (shoes optional)

*tattoos, dark colors, and real conversations are her jam

*shows up as herself—so you can, too

Brittany’s Story

I founded Flatland Psychiatry in November 2024 because I knew how badly our rural communities needed accessible mental health care. After starting my career in nursing and public health, I realized too many people were left without resources to continue to struggle. So, I went back to school to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and bring care to the place I know best.

I’m a North Dakota native, married to a farmer-rancher, and raising two daughters. I know the realities of rural life firsthand, and I’m passionate about making care approachable, professional, and close to home.
